INTRODUCTION
PlayStruct Junior is a modular, construction-based furniture system intentionally designed for kids aged 5–7. It transforms the traditionally passive act of assembling furniture into a vibrant journey of building, discovery, and active interaction.
Featuring over 4+ core archetypes and 10+ customizable configurations, PlayStruct Junior grows with your child’s imagination. It’s not just about giving them a place to sit or draw, it's about inviting them to co-create their own environment, turning everyday furniture into an interactive playground of cognitive development and spatial discovery.
CONCEPT
How do we bridge the gap between static utility and dynamic imagination? Our journey began by completely dismantling and decoding two everyday concepts: "furniture" and "play."
We realized that furniture doesn't have to be a finished product delivered to a room—it can be a starting point. Somewhere along the line, the breakthrough happened: we shifted our focus from the final object to the act of assembly itself. For a child aged 5–7, the process of putting things together, testing boundaries, and having creative autonomy over their own space is the ultimate form of play.
Assembly is the main event. These four foundational configurations show just how easily the modular components click, lock, and stack together. By following simple, color-coded visual paths, kids can independently tear down and rebuild their furniture to match the day's adventure.

COLLABORATORS
PlayStruct Junior was brought to life through a collaborative partnership between Sahib Singh, Pranav Jain and Anushree. Combining our backgrounds in physical prototyping, spatial systems, and creative interaction, we worked iteratively to transform a raw concept into a living, tactile furniture ecosystem for the next generation of builders.
